DESIGN PRODUCT : In 2023, Ligne Roset is reissuing two models by Pierre Paulin created in 1954 to accompany the Tanis desk. The first one is the F061 sideboard and the second one is the F181 sofa end table/bedside table. These two pieces are in the same finishes as the Tanis desk.

In the case of these new pieces, Eric Jourdan's new range of furniture, the work was based around a specific design language. It is drawing which guided the project, the pencil drew, shifted, proportioned the constituent elements of the piece, putting the tops, for example, in complete balance with the offset legs. Light in appearance, asymmetrical, hollowed-out, these are the rounded forms beloved by Eric Jourdan.

CONCEPTION : although it might be evocative of certain metal modular systems from the office world, Dita clearly distances itself from these in a number of ways: its lacquered panels are in wood rather than sheet metal; its discreet profiled uprights with their sophisticated finish are perfectly placed, cast and not part of the structure; a matching handle which is light and beautifully designed; and its small, slim feet which continue the line of the structure in a very natural way.
QUALITY OF MANUFACTURE & FINISHES: uprights are in 15 x 15 mm anodised aluminium section in a brushed bronze finish. These frame the wooden panels which are finished in argile lacquer on the interior faces and in a choice of 16 colours for all visible exterior faces:
- satin white, argile and perle (standard),
- brique, bleu lavande, chocolat, moutarde, elephant, ranger, noir, bleu nuit, brun acajou, bleu gentiane, cuivre, gris platine (to order).
All items are single-sided but are finished on the back (back panels and edges in argile lacquer). Certain items may be given an optional double-sided treatment, with the addition of a rear finishing panel.
Handles are in injected zamak, lacquered bronze to co-ordinate with the uprights.
Hinges are black.
The feet H 30 mm continue the line of the uprights and incorporate a black jack.
The new shelving unit, at H 189 cm the same height as the storage column, has shelves in a choice of 17 finishes: grey smoked glass, satin white/argile/perle lacquer, plus the 13 'to-order' lacquer colours (brique, bleu lavande, chocolat, moutarde, elephant, ranger, noir, bleu nuit, brun acajou, bleu gentiane, cuivre, gris platine).
The 4-drawer chest is composed of 3 identical drawers topped with a narrower upper drawer.
The 6-drawer chest is composed of 5 identical drawers topped with a nattower upper drawer.
The bench/TV unit is available in 2 versions, either with a cushion or with a lacquered top. It comprises 2 flap doors with 2 lower glass shelves (could be used as hallway storage).
The cushion in high resilience polyurethane Bultex foam 53 kg/m3 – 6.3 kPa is covered in Steelcut trio 3 (choice of 53 colours).

As with the Ruché settee, the Ruché bed is lifted from the ground by a simple, fine structure which supports a comfortable sleep platform. The headboard and frame are dressed with a distinctive quilting, a kind of boutis stitch of padding made using a cross-hatching of interrupted seams. Alternately flattened by the stitches then set free, the fabric 'curls' in places, giving rise both to its unique appearance and to its name, Ruché (a gathered or pleated fabric which serves as decoration on a piece of clothing). For Ligne Roset, Ruché also brings together the unusual and the traditional. The unusual thing about this piece is its solid wood structure, and the great traditional element: the quilting, the very heart of its savoir-faire. Its rangy uprights and the undulations of its duvet combine to produce a harmonious union of rigorous straight lines and soft, welcoming curves.

A reproduction of an occasional table which was amongst Pierre Paulin's very first designs from 1953. Scandinavian-inspired, the purity of its lines, its geometric treatment and in particular its four oblique legs are characteristic of the style of the Fifties. Its cutout hand-holds lend it a mobility which also enables it to be used as a serving or breakfast tray. Mobile occasional table in solid natural or black-stained oak or in wild cherry. Top with two cutout handles. Slim lateral edging on the two long sides. The screen-printed signature of Pierre Paulin appears in light grey on the edge of the top near the handle.
